The Department of Social Affairs, Families, Labor Market & Interior Affairs is seeking an AC officer or a consultant for the Department of Social Affairs. The Social Department is responsible for the daily administration and implementation of the Naalakkersuisut's social policy for the adult sector.
The department has a broad portfolio of tasks, ranging from the preparation of political proposals and the development of the social sector to strategic work and the holding of courses in social legislation for the municipalities.
We are looking for an engaged AC officer/consultant for our team, where we both manage and develop the Government of Greenland's social policy for the adult sector. Job description
As an AC officer in the Social Department, you will play a key role in ensuring both an efficient operation of the department's tasks and progress in development projects. Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to serving our Naalakkersuisut and work on a wide range of projects that influence the development of social policy.
We are a small department where we work together and value professional competence as well as a positive and flexible attitude. We handle a wide range of tasks, which often require both coordination, project management, and analytical skills. Currently, initiatives for the elderly citizens in our community are a significant focus, as well as initiatives for the homeless.

Your tasks will be organized in agreement with the department head. At present and in the near future, the department is responsible for the following tasks: Implementation of initiatives in the Elderly Strategy,

Implementation of initiatives in the Homeless Strategy,

Tasks related to the Inatsisartut meetings; prepare response notes and presentations

Development and implementation of courses in social legislation

Preparation of informational material for the municipalities in accordance with the new social legislation

Administrative case processing

Coordination and collaboration with relevant stakeholders both internally and externally.

Political service of the Minister for Social Affairs

Qualifications: Relevant higher education

Experience within a politically governed organization is an advantage, but recent graduates with strong commitment are also encouraged to apply.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor may occur in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
