Would you like to work closely with students, teachers, and management on well-being, guidance, and completion at GBS?

At Niuernermik Ilinniarfik / Greenland Business School (GBS), we are looking for a student counselor.

At GBS, we work with young and adult students across vocational and higher education. As a study advisor, you will be a central part of the work with well-being, connection, and completion.

You will be part of a daily routine with close contact with the students, where relationships, clarity, and collaboration play an important role. The work ranges from counseling conversations and support in everyday life to coordination and administrative tasks.

About you

We are looking broadly, but imagine that you have experience in guidance, coaching, teaching, educational work, or similar.

The most important thing is that you can create calm, structure, and overview – and meet students in a clear and respectful manner.

It is an essential requirement that you can work in both Greenlandic and Danish. You must be able to navigate in a multilingual environment and contribute to ensuring that linguistic differences do not become a barrier to students' participation and development.

Tasks

• Your tasks will include: guidance and conversations with students
• support for well-being, attachment, and completion
• follow-up and preventive work regarding students in distress or uncertain study situations
• guidance on educational opportunities and study paths
• administrative tasks related to study guidance and case processing
• collaboration with educators and management regarding students and study environment
• contribute to a safe, clear, and inclusive study environment at GBS

As a study advisor, you report to the head of education and participate in the daily collaboration across GBS.

The start date is September 1, 2026, or by agreement, and the working hours are 40 hours per week.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
