Subject Teacher

Pilersitsivik has several workshops, a woodworking shop, craft equipment, and a kitchen. The use of nature is a big part of Pilersitsivik. For Pilersitsivik, we are looking for colleagues who are creative, independent, and can be outdoors with the youth – for hunting and hiking. The youth should learn to utilize nature and gather supplies for the winter.

The purpose of Pilersitsivik is:

• activity offerings tailored to the conditions for the youth in Sisimiut, Qeqqata Municipality.
• courses that are based on work, structure in everyday life, practical experiences, and creativity.
• support the young people in personal and professional development and maturation. To work constructively and purposefully to improve the individual's opportunities.
• create a safe and inspiring environment.

Work and Areas of Responsibility:

• support young people who have stalled in life to enter the workforce or pursue an education.
• motivate the youth to achieve their goals
• that there is good well-being at Pilersitsivik, fostering unity and good collaboration.
• activation of youth in various workshop trades.
• of upcoming activities.
• and participate in hunting and fishing trips as well as hiking trips
• support for the youth and inspire them to a healthy and active lifestyle.

Qualifications:

• you have experience and preferably an educational background in pedagogy within the youth sector or a vocational education such as a carpenter.
• You have experience – both personally and professionally – that enables you to "spot" the young people and communicate with them in a friendly, principled, and trust-building manner.
• you are patient, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
• you have a collaborative and approachable nature.
• you have a positive view of humanity.
• is stable, has a sense of order, is good at maintaining calm in stressful situations and having an overview
• must be able to work independently and be good at juggling many tasks at once

We would like you to be bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing can be assigned, for which payment is made according to applicable rules.

Commencement on August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
