Kitchen Manager

Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia is looking for a dedicated and responsible kitchen manager for the staff kitchen in the teachers' lounge.

About the position

As the kitchen manager, you are responsible for the daily catering of the school's teachers and other staff. Your efforts contribute to creating a cozy and well-functioning environment where employees can enjoy their breaks and social interactions.

Your primary work tasks

• Ensure that coffee and tea are ready every morning at 7:30 AM.
• Serving breakfast bread from 09:00 to 10:00.
• Prepare and serve lunch from 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM.
• Plan and arrange catering for joint meetings, including parent meetings and teacher meetings.
• Collaboration with the catering staff regarding provisions for teacher courses and other events, such as anniversaries and various receptions.
• Contribute to an inviting and well-being promoting environment in the teachers' lounge dining area.
• Ensure order, hygiene, and good workflows in the kitchen.

Work during school holidays

During school holidays, the kitchen manager collaborates with the staff of the food program on:

• Deep cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
• Preparation and planning for the upcoming school year.
• Other relevant tasks within the work area.

• Has experience from the kitchen, cafeteria, or institutional sector.
• Is service-minded and has a focus on quality and well-being.
• Can work independently and take responsibility for planning and operations.
• Is flexible and collaborative.
• Has knowledge of hygiene and food safety.
• Contributes positively to the school's working environment.

Working hours

The position is for 40 hours per week with normal working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

There may be work outside of normal working hours in connection with meetings, courses, and other events as needed.
