Music Teacher

The position in Serravik is available for occupancy. The position is a full-time position.

Serravik is a music and culture school in Sisimiut under Qeqqata municipality, and offers music education for children, young people, and adults. Serravik also runs general leisure education in Sisimiut.

Serravik has recently moved into brand new premises adjacent to the city's cultural house, and is thus part of an active and inspiring environment that serves as the city's cultural center. The building houses classrooms, recording facilities, a stage, conference rooms, a library, and a café. The school is a lively and dynamic workplace, participating in numerous projects both locally, nationally, and internationally.

Work tasks

Primary tasks will be to manage:

• Music education. Instruments/subjects are arranged according to the applicant's qualifications.
• Participation in events, concerts, and other communication activities
• We are looking for a person with the following qualities:
• Good collaboration skills
• Preferably experience working with children.
• High-level musical competencies
• Relevant education, e.g. conservatory education, primary school teacher with music as a major, pedagogical education with a musical supplement or similar.
• Local affiliation and Greenlandic language skills are an advantage.
• The instructor is expected, in addition to the above, to participate in the school's daily work and to be an active part of the staff group.

Compensation and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.

Housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit/rent, etc. is to be paid, and relocation travel as well as moving expenses will be granted in accordance with applicable regulations.
