Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia is seeking 4 teachers/part-time teachers to instruct approximately 400 students in Sisimiut. The position requires planning and execution of lessons, collaboration within the teaching team, and evaluation of the student's action plan. Employment will primarily be on collective agreement terms with a start date of August 1, 2026.

Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia is staffed with 56 teachers and has about 400 students, 20 classes ranging from 1st to 10th grade, and 16 special classes, divided into 2 departments.

The teacher's duties:

  • Planning and execution of the teaching

·Willing to collaborate in the teaching team

Is open to new teaching methods in collaboration with colleagues.

Is willing to learn to work and teach with iPad.

  • The evaluation should be based on the student's own action plan, which the teacher prepares.
  • Ongoing evaluation of the annual plans and each student's benefit from the teaching.

·     Participate in the development of staff and the school

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings, are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force at any given time between the Government of Greenland and the teachers' organization IMAK. Employment is primarily based on collective agreement terms.

For applicants who are already employed as Greenlandic civil servants, the employment as a teacher can take place as a civil servant. The employment as a civil servant will be in accordance with the Home Rule Act No. 21 of December 18, 2003, regarding the civil servants of the Greenland Self-Government and the Municipalities in Greenland.
