Janitor Assistant

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated janitor assistant for Atuarfik Tuiisaq.

The caretaker's and assistant caretaker's responsibility is the school's safety and cleanliness, which includes overseeing the service staff, cleaning staff, and kitchen staff. When there are events, the caretaker must collaborate with the service staff to prepare for the event.

The caretaker's tasks:

• The janitor supervises the service staff and their cleaning.
• Find cleaning substitute
• The janitor assigns the service staff's tasks based on the Principal's instructions.
• The school opens at 7:00 AM.
• The school closes at 4:00 PM, surely (If there are people at the school when the janitor needs to lock up, it is the janitor's responsibility to make arrangements for closing and ensure that they are followed).
• If there are events after closing time, it is the caretaker's responsibility to ensure that the school is closed safely and securely.
• The caretaker's responsibility is to ensure that the school is closed, doors and windows by 5:00 PM at the latest.
• The caretaker's responsibility is snow removal at all doors and windows.
• That all emergency exits are clear.
• To ensure there is toilet paper, kitchen rolls, and hand soaps in all restrooms.
• That windows and doors are proper, not harmful.
• The janitor holds a meeting with the service staff once a month. The school principal is involved if it is necessary.
• Pickup of groceries etc.
• Ensures that vehicles are safe
• The caretaker's responsibility also includes transportation and picking up groceries.

• Cooperative
• Is open and loyal
• Can work with heavy things
• Can handle various tasks, renovation of different things.
• Is stable
• Has a driver's license

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police as well as the criminal record from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
