The Department for Children and Families in MI Tasiilaq is seeking a youth advisor to enhance preventive and supportive efforts for young people. Responsibilities include counseling, guidance, and collaboration with the police and healthcare. Applicants should have a social work background and experience, as well as being energetic and proactive.
The Administration for Children and Families in MI Tasiilaq is seeking 1 youth advisor for employment starting July 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The youth advisors in the intervention area are tasked with strengthening a preventive and supportive initiative for young people in the municipality.
The youth advisors offer various forms of support to vulnerable citizens, in the form of advice and guidance, as well as conversation and therapy sessions. Under MI Tasiilaq.
The intervention area is a newly reorganized area that started on January 1, 2025, previously called BFC, which consists of; youth advisors, foster family consultants, family counselors, and the children's house Pigeer under MI Tasiilaq in January 2025.
The youth advisor must have close collaboration with the aforementioned areas, as well as cooperation with the police, the healthcare system, and other organizations that work with children and the area.
The content of the position:

Responsible for planning the tasks

Provide advice and guidance to young people regarding: neglect, communication, teenage issues, and other factors that affect young people's lives.

Provide practical assistance in the home/young people's apartments if necessary.

Conduct assessment of referred youth

Provide open counseling
-
Engage in a collaboration with internal and external partners.

Be open and appreciative of the teenagers' world.

Engage in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Engage in the work with young people in aftercare

Participate in other tasks within MI

Participate in village tours together with the village team.

Participate in planned outdoor activities/excursions
The tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees, as well as relevant partners across the board.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
