Center Manager for Majoriaq Nuuk

Majoriaq Nuuk is seeking a dedicated center manager to lead and develop the center's activities. The position involves responsibility for budget, operations, and collaboration with leaders and staff. We are looking for an experienced leader who can motivate and inspire workforce upskilling. Start date desired is August 1, 2026, or as soon as possible.

Majoriaq is characterized by a one-door principle, which means that citizens can seek assistance in one place regardless of whether they want guidance for work or education. This gives Majoriaq a central role in upgrading the skills of the workforce, which is why we are looking for a dedicated and skilled center manager for Majoriaq Nuuk who is passionate about following and elevating the visions of Majoriaq. Therefore, we expect to receive a motivated application. The desired start date is August 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, but we are willing to wait for the right candidate.

The position is placed under the Municipality of Sermersooq's administration for Welfare and Labor Market, where the head of the Labor Market area is the immediate supervisor.

The center manager for Majoriaq Nuuk has the overall responsibility for the center's budget, operations, and task solutions in collaboration with the other leaders in the center, where good leadership fosters development in the work, and where communication and collaboration are highly valued competencies.

Majoriaq has 3 overarching work and responsibility tasks: job and guidance, upskilling (academic and non-academic), and administration, where the center manager's role in daily operations is to create coherence in the activities of the individual departments, and especially to support development in accordance with the objectives.

You will therefore work as the center manager in Majoriaq, where your task is to lead the implementation of the strategies outlined by the Municipal Council together with your employees in the effort to motivate young people and adults to become ready to start a job or education in collaboration with public and private companies.

The content of the position:

·Overall management of Majoriaq Nuuk

To ensure that development takes place, follows the frameworks and the agreed strategies.

To ensure that there is sparring with the department heads and that collaboration among the staff continues to develop.

·Contribute to the development of staff competencies

·Contribute to the continued development of collaboration with labor market partners, educational institutions, and the municipality's administrations.

·To assist in the preparation of case presentations for the political committee

·To participate in solving various ad hoc tasks

You have a professional education and have management experience.

You have knowledge of the legislation in the field of education and the labor market.

You have knowledge of working with budgets and accounts.

You maintain an overview in all situations and handle conflicts.

You are a initiator and inspirer.

Has a present, appreciative, and positive leadership and collaboration style.

You can participate in identifying wishes and needs in the labor market.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
