About the position:
As the department head of the Crisis Center for women and children affected by violence in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, you have the overall responsibility for daily operations, professional quality, and personnel management. The position is centrally located within the municipality's focus area and works closely with other departments in the administration as well as external partners.
The crisis center offers temporary accommodation, support, and safety for women and children who have been subjected to violence or live in violent relationships. The initiative is based on applicable legislation, the municipality's strategies, and a strong child and family perspective.
Your primary responsibilities:

Overall management of the crisis center, i.e. professionally, in terms of personnel, and administratively.

Ensure clear structure, clear workflows, and a common professional direction.

Support quality and coherence in the efforts for women and children.

Create a safe, professional, and developmental work environment for the employees.

Manage planning, financial overview, and documentation
-
Collaboration closely with relevant municipal units, including the child and family sector.

Collaboration with police, healthcare, civil society, and other authorities
-
Contribute to the ongoing development and adaptation of the service in a municipal context.
We are looking for a department manager who:

Has experience in personnel management, preferably from the social or crisis center sector.

Can lead with both presence, clarity, and decisiveness.

Is adaptable and can handle complex and unpredictable work situations.

Works in a structured manner and thrives with responsibility and prioritization.

Communicates clearly, respectfully, and trustworthily.

Has knowledge of – or understanding of – Greenlandic societal conditions and cultural frameworks

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
