Deputy Head for Perorsaanermik Ilinniarfik/Social Pedagogical Seminar

We are looking for a strong and dedicated deputy head for Perorsaanermik Ilinniarfik/Social Pedagogical Seminar. You will play a central role in the management of the organization, ensuring strong administrative frameworks and effective operations. You will work closely with the principal and educational manager to translate strategic decisions into concrete results.

Deputy Head for Perorsaanermik Ilinniarfik/Social Pedagogical Seminar We are looking for a strong and committed deputy head for Perorsaanermik Ilinniarfik/Social Pedagogical Seminar, who will play a central role in the overall management of the organization, and who, with strong relational skills and an understanding of people, can create trust and coherence across the board.

As the deputy manager, you hold a key position with responsibility for daily operations, coordination, and coherence across the organization's functions. You help ensure that our educational programs are supported by strong administrative and organizational frameworks, and that the organization operates effectively in practice.

You will be part of a close and committed management collaboration with the principal and educational manager, contributing to translating strategic decisions into well-functioning operations and concrete results.

  • Areas of responsibility: Has overall management responsibility for support functions, including finance and HR, student services and dormitories, as well as the cafeteria, and ensures coherence between these and the organization's core mission.
  • Participates in a close and committed management collaboration with the principal and education manager, translating the organization's strategy into operations and implementation.
  • Has personnel responsibility and ensures clear leadership, well-being, and development of employees.
  • Responsible for handling personnel matters and ensuring a professional and proper management practice.
  • Ensures coherent annual planning with an overview of expected activities and resource consumption.
  • Has the overall responsibility for planning and coordinating the organization's operations and activities.
  • Has responsibility for recording and ensuring coherence between activity and capacity.
  • Handles capacity management and ensures effective and appropriate use of resources, including finance, budget, personnel, and facilities.
  • Responsible for managing the school's funding basis, including taximeter revenues, other income, and monitoring the departments' expenditures.
  • Has overall responsibility for administrative processes and workflows.
  • Ensures effective organizational frameworks, including staff handbook and emergency plans.
  • Ensures oversight and management of trade unions and collective agreements
  • Responsible for well-being and retention, including the implementation and follow-up on the workplace assessment (APV) and employee development plan (ETU).
  • Handles collaboration with other educational institutions and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the organization's website and supports external communication.
  • Responsible for reporting on projects and deliveries as well as preparing the annual report.
  • Prepares consultation responses and delivers data and analyses to the department.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to the school's committees.
  • Qualifications: Has a relevant higher education or further education in administration, economics, organization, or management, as well as knowledge of the education system in Greenland.
  • Has experience with financial management and the ability to work analytically with budgets, follow-up, and resource utilization.
  • Has an inclusive leadership style and creates coherence and direction across the organization, successfully bringing together employees and functions around common goals.
  • Possesses strong relational skills and has a good understanding of people and dynamics, which creates a sense of security among employees.
  • Can communicate in Greenlandic as well as at least one other relevant language and has knowledge of Greenlandic culture and the Greenlandic society.
  • Has strong communication skills and can convey clearly and distinctly across the organization.
  • Is trustworthy and naturally creates relationships, so employees and partners seek dialogue and collaboration.
  • Has a solid overview and the ability to navigate in a complex organization.
  • Is proactive and works systematically with a focus on follow-up, progress, and implementation.
  • Has good facilitation skills and can lead meetings and processes that create engagement and results.
  • Works in a structured and systematic manner in task solving.
  • Is detail-oriented and has an eye for quality in both processes and deliveries.
  • Has strong collaboration skills and is able to build good relationships across the organization.
  • Has a good operational overview and can ensure efficient use of resources.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is currently classified as corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and personal pension contributions in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Housing

An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
