HR Consultant

The Government of Greenland is seeking an HR consultant for Personnel & Law. You will work with personnel case management, drafting employment contracts, and advising on collective agreements. We are looking for a structured and responsible person with good collaboration skills and knowledge of Greenlandic conditions. Employment will be in the Department of Economy and Personnel.

We are a good team consisting of personnel consultants and lawyers covering the personnel administrative area within both the central administration and the health sector. We are now looking for 1 personnel consultant with a preliminary placement in the team that works with the Central Administration, starting on September 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

 

We work with the handling of personnel matters, where we, among other things, prepare employment contracts for the entire Greenland Self-Government, the underlying units, and the Health Service. In addition, we advise and guide the leaders on collective agreements and contracts.

The Office for Personnel & Law consists of 13 personnel consultants, 3 personnel lawyers, and 2 office managers.

Your primary work tasks

We are looking for a personnel consultant who will work broadly within the department's task management. The department is currently under development, where we are working to create greater dynamics between those working in the health sector and those working in the rest of the central administrative area. Therefore, the position offers the opportunity to also leave your mark and contribute to developing the workflows in the team.

  • The primary tasks will be: Personnel case processing related to employment, including particularly the preparation of employment contracts and various correspondence.
  • Entering salary, allowances, and terminations
  • Processing of civil servant pension
  • Advising and interpreting within civil servant legislation and other regulations in the employment law area.
  • Interpretation of agreements

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on the preparation of guidelines, forms, and the publication of materials.

If you have an interest in and a keen eye for streamlining workflows, processes, etc., this will particularly be an advantage.

  • We are looking for a colleague who has: A degree as a bachelor, professional bachelor, or is trained in office administration.
  • Experience from similar positions is an advantage, but you can also be a recent graduate.
  • Good at collaborating, sparring, and sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
  • Not afraid to take on a challenge and see it through to the end.
  • Good oral and written communication skills at a high level
  • It is an advantage if you have good numerical understanding and understanding of legal/economic risks.
  • It is an advantage if you have knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions and culture, and it will be a clear advantage if you master the Greenlandic language.
  • Diplomatic, service-minded, and friendly by nature.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
