Do you want to help develop tourism in Avannaata Municipality and ensure good collaboration between the municipality, businesses, and Visit Ilulissat? We are looking for a department head to be the municipality's contact person in the tourism sector and collaborate with Visit Ilulissat & Nalik Ventures. The position is available from May 1 or by further agreement.
WILL YOU HELP DEVELOP tourism in Avannaata Municipality and ensure good cooperation between the municipality, the business community, and the new company Visit Ilulissat, which works with tourism development?
We are looking for a department head who will serve as the municipality's contact person within the tourism industry in Avannaata Municipality as well as the municipality's newly established company, Visit Ilulissat.
The department head must work closely with Visit Ilulissat & Nalik Ventures, and there will be travel activities to these instances in collaboration. You will also serve the Tourism Committee, as the development strategy within tourism in collaboration with the aforementioned must align with the political goals.
The position is available for occupancy on May 1 or by further agreement. The department manager will be physically located at the business administration in Ilulissat.

Your tasks:

Coordinate the collaboration with the company, citizens, and political matters.

Prepare agendas, background materials, and minutes for the Tourism Committee.

Ensure follow-up on political decisions and the committee's work.

Support the municipality's strategic development of the tourism sector.

Create dialogue and collaboration with citizens, businesses, and other stakeholders.

Has a relevant higher education (e.g. tourism, social sciences, business/administration)

Has experience with project management, coordination, and collaboration across teams.

Has experience working with tourism, preferably also strategically.

Is good at written and oral communication – preferably in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.

Is structured, analytical, and has an understanding of working in a politically governed organization.

An exciting and central role in the development of tourism in Avannaata Municipality.

Close collaboration with both political committees, the business community, and tourism stakeholders.

Housing can be assigned for the position. According to applicable rental terms for rental housing, rent and a deposit should be expected at the beginning of the lease.
