Avannaata Municipality is seeking a health assistant for the rehabilitation center in Ilulissat, starting June 1, 2026. Responsibilities include substitute duties, activity management, assistance with administrative tasks, physical training, and daily cleaning. Requirements: trained health assistant, experience with disabled individuals, caring, responsible, and cooperative.
Avannaata Municipality is seeking a healthcare assistant for the rehabilitation center in Ilulissat, starting June 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The nearest supervisor for the assistant at the rehabilitation center is the manager of the rehabilitation center in Ilulissat.
Tasks and responsibilities:
·Act as a deputy when the leader is not present.
Co-responsibility for activities for residents and students/pupils.
·Shared responsibility for ensuring that the house is nice and comfortable to stay in, as well as being attentive to the need for repairs and assistance for residents who need support.
·Help with administrative tasks as needed.
·Contribute to filling out agenda items for meetings.
·Engage in physical training/exercise three times a week.
Ensure that there are no missing materials for activities. Additionally, seek out and develop new activities for the demented, blind, and visually impaired.
·Conversation and listening.
Weekly planning and evaluation.
·Assist with the purchase of missing items.
Daily indoor cleaning before the end of the workday.
Competences:
·Trained healthcare assistant or social worker.
Experience working with people with disabilities.
Caring and attentive towards the citizens.
Good at coming up with activities.
Responsible.
·Has an overview and can adapt.
Cooperative and stable.
·Physically and mentally healthy as well as open and happy.
Salary and employment conditions:
Employment is in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.
No housing is provided in connection with the position.
Employment will be conditional on a satisfactory criminal record, which the employer will obtain from the National Police with the applicant's consent.
