Speech Therapist

Pissassarfik is seeking a speech therapist eager to enhance the rehabilitation sector in Greenland. The position involves assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of speech and language difficulties, as well as advising and teaching individuals with disabilities.

The National Disability Center Pissassarfik is looking for a speech therapist. About the position

Pissassarfik is seeking a speech therapist eager to enhance the rehabilitation sector in Greenland. Our target group includes citizens of all ages with disabilities requiring rehabilitation. As a speech therapist at Pissassarfik, you should focus on the needs of the citizens and support them in regaining or improving their speech, voice, and communication skills.

Daily tasks include assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of speech and language difficulties, administrative duties, and advising and teaching individuals with disabilities, relatives, professionals, and other relevant partners. The position may involve travel.

Be educated as a speech/hearing therapist, Audiologist, or Logopedist • Have strong communication skills • Possess curiosity, independence, and commitment to take responsibility • Be able to motivate and set goals for training in consultation with the citizen and carry out treatment courses • Thrive in openness and interdisciplinary collaboration • Contribute to promoting an open and constructive dialogue with our partners • Provide advice and guidance to citizens, relatives, professionals, etc. • Contribute positively to well-being and work environment • Use IT at a user level

It is an advantage:

If you have experience with aphasia and possibly CI implants. Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment terms, including the right to travel and relocation, according to the agreement/contract in force at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

An unfurnished staff residence may be assigned according to the rules in force at any time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have a staff residence or another residence owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the rules in force for the assigned residence. The staff residence is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of employment.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the residence, ownership, etc. There may be a waiting period for the assignment of permanent staff housing, during which temporary accommodation may be provided, including in smaller shared housing or hotel apartments, which are taxed. It is not possible to keep large pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
