We are looking for a maternity cover for our land and building authority in Avannaata Municipality.
Avannaata Municipality is seeking a Land Case Handler for our Land and Building Authority Administration in Ilulissat as soon as possible, until January 2027.
You will be a land case handler in the Department for Land and Building Authority under the Technical Administration. Professionally, you will report to the department head for land case handling.
Avannaata Municipality has its central administration in Ilulissat. Avannaata Municipality has about 10,650 inhabitants living spread across 4 towns and 21 settlements. Ilulissat is developing, and a new airport of 2200 meters is being built along with hotels and new housing in the near future.
Near Ilulissat lies the world-famous Icefjord Kangia, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts many tourists to the area each year. Midnight sun, dog sledding, icebergs, fishing, UNESCO, the sea, sea ice, and northern lights are characteristic of Greenland's northernmost municipality, Avannaata Kommunia. The town has many associations in sports and culture that you can be a part of. There are several restaurants and cafes in the town.
The significant tasks of the land case handler:

Processing of land applications from all of Avannaata Municipality.

Has close collaboration with colleagues from other cities and towns for the handling of land issues.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with building case handlers and urban planners.

In addition to regular land matters, dog areas and boat spaces are managed along with smaller time-limited land applications in the land department.

Has the opportunity to help develop and improve the department's workflows.

Service and guidance for citizens with applications.
The above will be core tasks for the position, which will also receive interdisciplinary project tasks from across the administration to a significant extent.
Desired qualifications
We are looking for applicants with strong professional qualifications and an educational background as a civil engineer/building constructor/technician/surveyor or equivalent in construction and civil engineering.
Has experience in construction and land legislation.
·Has experience from a similar position or is a recent graduate with a burning interest in public administration.
You demonstrate flexibility regarding work tasks.
You are a solid user of IT, have knowledge of the Office suite, Qgis, NunaGis, NIN.
You are good at communicating in writing, verbally, and graphically.
You are bilingual (Greenlandic/Danish), but not a requirement.
You want to work in a politically led organization.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
About the position
The position is organizationally placed in the land and building department, which handles land administration and building case processing.
The Management for Technology currently has 21 employees, consisting of architects, engineers, constructors, and other technicians. The geographical area covers Ilulissat and the towns of Uummannaq, Upernavik, and Qaanaaq, along with the associated settlements.
The Administration for Technology has contact with citizens and the business community.
Criminal record
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the Municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the Municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
