Municipality of Qeqertalik is seeking a committee secretary for political administration. The position is located in INUA, responsible for committee work and contact with the committee chair. Tasks include case processing, controlling, document management, and project coordination. Requirements: relevant education, knowledge of public administration, and experience in politically governed organizations.
As committee secretary, you are responsible for the political administration in Municipality Qeqertalik.
The position is located in INUA, and your immediate supervisor is the head of the secretariat.
Your closest collaborators are the head of the secretariat, professional staff in the given committee, and other external stakeholders in the area. Additionally, employees under the secretariat.
In addition to the administrative responsibility for committee work, you are the main contact for the committee chair from the municipal council. Currently, there are the following standing committees: the committee for Timi Tarni, the committee for Inoqarfik, and the committee for Inuit.
Your work tasks and daily routine consist of:
-You serve standing committees, each with 5 members and 5 substitutes.
-Professional staff send case presentations for committee review.
-Responsible for ensuring that the head of the secretariat is informed and updated on developments and trends in the area.
-Perform general controlling to ensure that the case presentation complies with applicable legislation and principles.
-Ensure that all relevant documents are scanned and attached to the citizen's case, as well as attached to case presentations.
-Adjust and update workflows
-Ensure that decisions, projects, and initiatives for (re)establishing professional standards, implementing legislation, or operational development projects are coordinated with relevant parties.
-Preparation for the committees' inspiration trips and participation
-And all miscellaneous tasks in the secretariat
We expect you to be professionally:
-Has relevant education
-Knowledge of the regulatory framework for public administration and legislation relevant to municipal management
-Experience within a politically governed organization
We also expect that you personally:
-Has good collaboration and communication skills
-Has good abilities to create an overview and manage a busy everyday life.
-Following political conditions
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions, including travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, are determined in accordance with the applicable agreement or collective bargaining agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement.
Housing:
Housing can be allocated for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to staff housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, and in this context, this is considered a benefit in connection with the employment relationship, which must be stated in the declaration according to tax legislation.
The right to the service apartment ceases upon the termination of the employment relationship.
