Officer for the Pension Area

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated officer for the Pension Area under Social Services. The position involves processing applications related to early retirement and old-age pensions. We are looking for an office-trained or academy-educated individual with experience in case processing and a flair for IT. The position is full-time and requires collaboration with internal and external partners.

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated officer for the Pension area under Social Services.

Team Pension currently has 7 caseworkers who ensure that case processing within the areas of early retirement and old-age pensions always occurs in accordance with applicable legislation and based on a concrete assessment of each individual citizen's needs.

Team Pension is part of Social Services, which has many cross-cutting tasks and therefore collaborates widely with many partners both internally in the municipality and with external partners.

 

Social services currently consists of about 30 employees in Nuuk distributed across 4 teams – Pension Team, Social Services, Benefits Department, and Homeless Area.

The position, which is a full-time position, reports to the department manager in the Pension Team.

The content of the position: The content of the position is generally case processing of incoming applications, and thus must be part of our pension team and handle a number of tasks including:

  • Citizen service with advice and guidance for citizens with pension matters. We are a team that processes various types of applications, including handling and processing of personal, telephone, and written inquiries.
  • Case processing of various inquiries, applications regarding early retirement pensions and old-age pensions according to applicable laws, regulations, circulars, and announcements.
  • Ad hoc tasks.
  • Tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of Social Services, as well as our colleagues in the elderly sector and external partners.

In addition, we expect and emphasize that you:

·Is office-trained, academy-educated, a social worker, or equivalent.

·Has experience with case processing in the area and has a flair for IT (GetOrganized and AX prism).

  • Works independently, responsible.
  • That you are able to prioritize different tasks in a coherent and well-organized manner.

  • Is good at collaborating broadly.
  • Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Communicates clearly and distinctly, both in writing and orally.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Greenland Self-Government, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
