Caretaker

The nursing home/home care is seeking 1 janitor for employment on July 1, 2026, or by agreement.

"The Integrated Municipal Care Scheme" is a merger of the municipality's nursing homes + home care and has 1 caretaker and 1 caretaker assistant and a caretaker assistant in a flexible job, the nearest supervisor is the Matron.

The responsibilities of the caretakers

-Transport-, e.g. home care workers who need to be driven to a farther location.

- The position includes janitorial tasks at the nursing home's three current departments. Therefore, you will be visiting multiple addresses on a daily basis. It is expected that you can drive between departments as needed.

• Driving and picking up goods.
• Minor repairs of furniture and maintenance as well as inspection of the house's inventory
• Minor repairs, maintenance, and inspection of clients' aids.
• Shopping for the residents
• Coordinator for the janitor.
• You can expect to be on duty after normal working days including weekends and holidays.

• Has a driver's license

- It will help if you have knowledge of various tasks.

Salary and employment conditions:

Working hours 80 hours/14 days, a driver's license is required.

If you have a driver's license with the home care's handyman assistant, you will alternately work with the other handyman and the home care's handyman assistant on weekends and during public holidays according to the work schedule.

Every 2nd or 3rd weekend you must be available for on-call duty, which is compensated with a monthly allowance.

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization.

You should also expect to alternately work on public holidays with the other janitor according to the work schedule. Every other weekend, you must be available for on-call duty, which is compensated with a monthly allowance.

Employment in accordance with applicable collective agreements between the Government of Greenland, the Ministry of Finance, and SIK for heating masters, caretakers, and assistant caretakers.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
