The Radiology Department is seeking a consultant for a dynamic department where the patient is the focus. You will be responsible for the radiological area and work closely with other departments. The position is permanent, but a temporary contract can be considered. We offer a multicultural workplace with opportunities to influence development.
The Radiology Department offers a consultant position in an exciting, complex, and dynamic department;
-
Where the patient is the focus
-
Where professional quality and education are highly prioritized
-
Where interdisciplinarity has a particular focus
-
Where good collaborative relationships internally and externally are highly valued.
-
Where employees are engaged and have high professional competence
-
Where the culture is characterized by trust and respect.
You will be responsible for the radiological area and its development. Your work will take place in close collaboration with the other staff in the Radiology Department, as well as the doctors in both the Medical and Surgical Areas. The work area is very broad, exciting, and challenging – with diseases that are rarely seen elsewhere.
You will report to the head of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Unit.
The position is available for filling as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is primarily permanent, but do not be discouraged if you are considering applying for a temporary position.
We offer:
-
A well-functioning department with engaged employees
-
A varied everyday life in a multicultural environment, where you can influence development.
-
On-call duty from home
-
Interdisciplinary collaboration with all of Greenland (15 coastal hospitals)
-
Membership of an active personnel department
We are looking for you who:
-
Is a specialist in radiology with a solid professional and broad background.
-
Takes an active part in the responsibility for optimal operation and quality, taking into account financial resources and personnel utilization.
-
Is visionary and eager to engage and contribute to creating development.
-
Has the courage for challenges and is ready to work in a healthcare system where things are done differently.
About us:
-
Queen Ingrid's Hospital has a nationwide function and receives both acute and elective patients from all over Greenland.
-
The hospital has 190 beds distributed across four areas, including 85 beds in the patient hotel for patients from the coast.
-
The X-ray department in Nuuk is Greenland's main X-ray department, and we perform conventional X-ray examinations, ultrasound, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, mammography, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
-
The entire radiology area is fully digitalized, and all X-ray images taken on the coast are automatically transmitted to the radiology department in Nuuk, allowing all clinicians throughout Greenland to view X-ray images/descriptions on their computers via Sectra, as there is also a direct link to the Capital Region, specifically to Rigshospitalet.
-
MR and CT coronary are described by Rigshospitalet, just as we have mammography teams from Denmark to perform these approximately every 6 weeks. We have drop-in times for patients from the health center every day.
-
We receive acute patients from the emergency room daily and we examine traumas from all over Greenland. We also collaborate with TMC for descriptions of X-ray examinations.
-
The department conducts approximately 17,000 examinations per year, including about 3,500 CT scans, 1,200 MRI scans, and approximately 2,000 ultrasound examinations.
Start date: February 1, 2026, or by agreement
Application deadline: January 10, 2026
