Specialist Doctor

Specialist doctors are sought for temporary positions in Greenland lasting from 3 to 12 months. The work includes ward rounds, outpatient care, and shifts at Aasiaat Hospital. Specialists for temporary positions in a well-functioning region in Greenland for a duration of 3 to 12 months.

As a doctor in Aasiaat, you will have responsibilities including ward rounds, outpatient services, and on-call duties at Aasiaat Hospital. We have a large outpatient function where we handle general practice tasks for the city's approximately 3,000 residents. We also provide village nursing services in an area with 1,500 residents in the Disko Region through video consultations and visits to the small villages twice a year.

We have 17 beds and a patient hotel.

We have close collaboration with Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk regarding patient pathways.

We work in good physical surroundings and have a good working environment where we collaborate to optimally utilize our skills in our daily routines.

You work during the day from 08:00 to 16:00 and have on-call duty from home in Aasiaat about 4-7 times a month.

Our EPJ is Cosmic. You will be trained in this if you haven't worked with it before.

The Greenlandic healthcare system is bilingual; Danish and Greenlandic. Interpreters are employed at the hospital.

We are looking for you who:

  • Specialist doctor, preferably in general medicine or internal medicine – with Danish authorization.
  • Can work in a TEAM regarding the reception of the acutely ill patient.
  • Preferably has gynecological experience and/or experience with ultrasound in the clinic.
  • Has good communication and understanding of cultural differences.
  • Preferably has experience from general practice or internal medicine.
