The job
The primary tasks of the health center are consultations for the city's residents, emergency room work, nursing, and treatment of hospitalized patients, as well as monitoring of pregnant women and chronically ill patients.
No elective surgery is performed on-site, but minor procedures under local anesthesia are carried out. Preventive work is conducted based on the resources available at the health center.
The hospital department has space for 14 inpatients and a larger patient hotel, as there are 9 villages associated with Upernavik Health Center.
Patients who are hospitalized are of all ages; they can be both medical and surgical patients.

Who are we?
You will be part of a dedicated and skilled team in a well-functioning health center. You will meet friendly colleagues who provide a good introduction both professionally and socially in an exciting culture. The common values of the healthcare system are respect, trust, care, and professionalism.
We are 3 nurses, 7 healthcare assistants, 7 department assistants, 1 biomedical analyst, 2 porters, and 2 doctors. In addition, there are interpreters, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, and operational staff.
The health center is responsible for primary care in somatic and psychiatric home care, health care, maternity care, and a venereal clinic.
Upernavik
Is beautifully situated against a mountain and is one of the northernmost towns in Greenland. About 3000 inhabitants live here, distributed in the town of Upernavik and the associated settlements. The town is special with its nine settlements, which means that most of the residents in the area live in the settlements.
In winter, you can, among other things, go dog sledding on the ice, experience the Northern Lights, and have days when the sun does not rise above the horizon.
In the summer months, fishing, whale watching, and sailing trips are popular. From May to August, you can also experience the midnight sun.

Housing is allocated according to the rules in the Greenlandic Health Service in force at any given time.
Salary and employment
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Citizenship
If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that the employment is conditional upon a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
