We are looking for an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or educator for a full-time position in the treatment psychiatry at Dronning Ingrids Hospital in Nuuk. The position involves shift work and can be applied for as a temporary position of at least 5 months. You will work with patients with psychiatric disorders and contribute to treatment and coping plans.
We are primarily looking for someone who is trained as an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, educator, or similar, who has the desire and professionalism to work with people with psychiatric disorders in treatment psychiatry.
The position is a full-time role with shifting shifts and is available for occupancy from May 1, 2026, or by further agreement. The position can be applied for as a temporary position of at least 5 months' duration.
Department A1 is Greenland's only specialized department – a psychiatric reception department with space for 12 patients, of which 3 are in a specially secured section.
The department is located at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk. We receive patients from all over Greenland with disorders across the entire psychiatric spectrum and patients of all ages who need observation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation during hospitalization. Patient care and treatment are organized based on a bio-psycho-social treatment model. Care and treatment are based on environmental therapeutic treatment principles, relational therapy, and ego-supportive therapeutic conversations.
Your daily task is to function as a professional contact person for patients suffering from severe psychiatric illness, assist in developing treatment and coping plans, observe and document, support and create safety, structure, and frameworks for a good everyday life for the hospitalized patients, taking into account the individual patients' challenges and needs. The department places a high value on safety and collaboration.
Organizationally, you refer to the Department Nurse. You are part of a collegial community with doctors, nurses, educators, physiotherapists, and assistants. The department receives students and trainees. The area is led by a regional management team, which consists of a chief physician and a chief nurse. In addition to Department A1, the area includes an outpatient clinic where children, adolescents, and adults with a psychiatric disorder are assessed and treated on an outpatient basis by doctors, nurses, and psychologists.
