The regional pharmacy is looking for pharmacists starting June 1, 2026, or by agreement, for an exciting workplace where the hospital pharmacy and primary pharmacy are combined under one roof.

Greenland's pharmacists are employed at the National Pharmacy in Nuuk, where the core tasks are servicing the departments of Queen Ingrid's Hospital and dispensing medications according to prescriptions for the citizens of Nuuk.

Job description

As a pharmacist in Greenland, you will have a versatile role with both clinical and logistical tasks.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Advice and guidance for healthcare professionals and patients on medication and treatments
  • Prescription processing and dispensing of medication at the pharmacy
  • Management of medication orders, inventory control, and distribution to smaller villages
  • Ensuring that medical treatment is carried out in accordance with applicable guidelines and legislation.
  • Collaboration with doctors and nurses regarding patient safety and pharmacotherapy

In addition, you will continuously participate in projects such as:

  • Systematic review of drug assortments
  • Guidance on the disposal of medicinal waste
  • Process optimization in the distribution of vaccines, cytostatics, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for a pharmacist who:

  • Has experience from a pharmacy or hospital pharmacy (an advantage, but not a requirement)
  • Possesses good communication skills and can adapt advice to local conditions.
  • Is flexible and robust in an environment where resources and surroundings can vary.
  • Has an open and positive attitude towards working in a new and different environment.
  • Can work in a structured and efficient manner – even during busy periods.

Housing is allocated according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that the employment is conditional upon a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
