The position:
We offer both a temporary position of at least 3 months and a permanent position as a radiographer in the department. Initially, you will work with conventional X-ray and CT, but we also offer MRI and ultrasound upon request.
Day shifts run from 07:30 AM to 03:30 PM in a 40-hour workweek. Shifts occur on call from home and start from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM on weekdays and end at 07:30 AM the next day. On weekends, it is 24-hour on call from home.
About the department:
In the Radiology Department of Queen Ingrid's Hospital, conventional X-ray examinations, CT scans, MR scans, as well as ultrasound examinations, clinical mammograms, and some fluoroscopic examinations are performed.
The X-ray department in Nuuk has 2 Toshiba CT scanners: Aquilion One and Prime, 2 MR scanners: 1.5 T GE Voyager and Hitachi 0.4 T Aperto Lucent, 2 Toshiba DR systems, one with fluoroscopy, a Fuji FDR Go for outdoor photography, and Siemens Mammomat.
We get staff from Denmark who come approximately every 6 weeks to perform mammography. About 17,000 examinations are conducted each year in Nuuk, and 15,000 along the coast.
We work in Sectra RIS/PACS and Cosmic EPJ.
Furthermore, we are in the process of modernizing the entire department with new facilities and machines, the latest being our MR scanner from GE.
We are 7 radiographers, 1-2 nurses, 1-2 radiology assistants, 1-2 healthcare assistants, 1 healthcare helper, and 1 secretary.
It is a department characterized by a high degree of independence with responsibility and competence, as we sometimes need to be able to function without a radiologist.
The X-ray department here at Queen Ingrid's Hospital puts a lot of effort into maintaining a great atmosphere and social interactions. When the schedule allows, we take a stair trip to the 7th floor together and share a selfie for our internal Facebook group. Otherwise, we have breakfast together every Friday, organize cozy evenings in the coffee room or at restaurants from time to time.
We respect and take care of each other, as well as share the workload.
