The Support Corps in Paamiut is seeking an employee for 40 hours a week.

Disability and Social Psychiatry is looking for a caring and welcoming employee for the support team in Paamiut, currently located in Naasunnguit. If you have your heart in the right place and are passionate about making a difference for our citizens, you might be the colleague we are missing.

The position is for 40 hours, with rotating shifts and weekend work. You will be working alongside 2 employees in the housing collective, who work 40 hours a week.

In the housing collective Naasunnguit, there are 4 residents with mental disabilities and developmental delays. The residents have their own room and share the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and toilet with the other residents. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills so that they can be as self-sufficient as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living a good and meaningful life as they wish.

Your tasks:

To work on developing the residents towards a higher degree of self-sufficiency and increased quality of life, among other things, through the work with the residents' action plans.

To motivate and support the residents in everyday activities such as walking, shopping, cooking, and medical visits.

To strengthen the community through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents.

The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with the other staff of the housing collective as well as internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Queen Margrethe's Hospital, and the criminal justice system.

You have experience working with people, preferably from the field.

Is caring and welcoming, and sees that it is the way to a good working environment.

·Want to develop yourself and our department so that it makes a meaningful difference for the resident.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight residential units, five housing collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support teams located in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. Relocation travel and moving of household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
