Social Worker

The nursery Inequnaat in Qasigiannguit is seeking a social worker for a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The position requires a social worker education, responsibility, flexibility, and the ability to handle stress. Employment requires a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. Municipality of Qeqertalik Qasigiannguit is seeking a Social Worker trained for employment starting on 01.06.2026 or by further agreement, in the nursery Inequnaat.

General for the Nursery:

The position is a full-time position, 40 hours a week. There is room for 0-2 year old 24 children.

The opening hours for the nursery are Monday – Friday from 07:00 – 17:00.

The administration for the nursery falls under the Head of Department for early childhood education.

In total, there are 9 staff members.

Applicant's qualifications: Social worker education, be responsible, active and engaged, have an overview, be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable and stable, possess good physical and mental health, and be prepared to work according to the institution's goals, political goals for children and youth, and other applicable regulations for employees under Municipality Qeqertalik.

Criminal and child certificate: This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We therefore wish to emphasize that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions: Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. There is no staff housing associated with the position.
