Kangaatsiap Atuarfia Iparartarfik is seeking 2 qualified primary school teachers for Danish, mathematics, cultural subjects, sports, outdoor life, practical music subjects, and special education. The school was newly built in 2022 and offers a good learning environment focused on collaboration between school and home.

At Municipality Qeqertalik Kangaatsiaq, Kangaatsiap Atuarfia Iparartarfik, 2 qualified primary school teachers are sought. The school is looking for teachers for the subjects of Danish, mathematics, cultural subjects, physical education, outdoor life, practical musical subjects, as well as for extensive special education.

Employment from August 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted by June 11, 2026.

Employment will take place according to the collective agreement between the Greenlandic Government and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK. Applicants coming from a civil service position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving of personal belongings, are in accordance with the agreements in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Greenlandic Teachers, IMAK.

The employment may also take place under special term conditions according to an agreement between the Greenland Self-Government and IMAK, whereby a severance payment of 18,000 DKK is provided as an annual base amount from April 1, 1991, which is now 20,253.72 DKK as of April 1, 2017, and an annual vacation travel allowance for the employee and their family.

Criminal record and child certificate:

This position is covered by the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Housing:

A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payment in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If a permanent staff residence cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant residence will be offered a temporary vacant residence, for which A-tax will be paid for benefits in kind according to applicable legislation.

OR The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for personal belongings are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.

A staff housing must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
