Qeqqata Municipality is seeking a translator/interpreter for employment starting March 2, 2026. The position involves written translation, dialogue interpreting, and simultaneous interpreting. Qeqqata Municipality is seeking a translator/interpreter for employment starting March 2, 2026, or by agreement.
The interpreting function in Qeqqata Municipality is set for 4 interpreters (1 in Maniitsoq) and 1 head of interpreting, and currently, we are missing 1 interpreter for the interpreting office in Sisimiut. We can be very busy in our interpreting office leading up to meetings and gatherings.
Work and responsibilities:
Written translation of various matters from Danish to Greenlandic and from Greenlandic to Danish.
·Dialogue interpretation
·Simultaneous interpretation for committees and municipal councils, town hall meetings, and similar events.
·Ad hoc tasks
Qualifications:
You are good at communicating, both orally and in writing.
You are good at collaborating and influencing your surroundings.
You are good at handling many tasks simultaneously and are adaptable.
You master Greenlandic and Danish both orally and in writing (requirement) and preferably English (though not a requirement).
You have experience in word processing and the SDLX interpreting system (training for the interpreting system can take place).
You can work purposefully in a dual-cultural environment.
You are responsible.
Your background:

·Has worked in a politically governed organization

The relocation journey and moving of belongings are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force at any given time between the Government of Greenland and your negotiating organization.
Housing can be allocated for which rent etc. is paid according to applicable rules.
