The Ombudsman for Inatsisartut is seeking a translator/interpreter to handle translation tasks in collaboration with the interpreting office. The work includes written and oral translation of inquiries to the ombudsman as well as participation in project-oriented and administrative tasks. The position is based in Nuuk with potential travel activities.

About the Ombudsman

The Ombudsman is elected to monitor whether the self-government authorities and the Greenlandic municipalities comply with applicable law.

We handle inquiries and complaints from citizens. In addition, we also take up cases ourselves, for example, issues specifically selected from a complaint or after being mentioned in the press, just as we conduct municipal visits and inspections of institutions. This can lead to criticism or the authorities may receive a recommendation to reconsider their decisions or practices, in accordance with the ombudsman's remarks in the case.

The case processing takes place in both Greenlandic and Danish in collaboration with the chief judge, the other caseworkers, and interpreters.
