Tasks include interpreting, translating informational materials, and administrative duties. Experience in healthcare is an advantage.
We are looking for an interpreter for a maternity cover in the Medical Area from March 15, 2026, or by agreement. One of our permanent interpreters has gone on maternity leave, and we are therefore seeking a full-time monthly salaried interpreter for the period from March 15 to October 31, 2026.
Communication is an important tool in relation to the healthcare system's mission to achieve citizen-centered health and increased quality of life for all, making the interpreter a crucial link between patients and healthcare personnel. The medical department is seeking an interpreter who can assist staff in having a good dialogue with patients.

We are looking for you who:

Is trained as an interpreter/translator or has extensive experience in interpreting and translation work.

Work tasks:

Interpreting function in connection with examinations and treatment

Translation of informational materials and guides into Greenlandic

Administrative tasks in the medical department

Retrieve and archive records and other patient materials
The medical area is led by a chief physician and a head nurse. The medical area includes an outpatient clinic, a day ward, and two inpatient wards with a total of 32 beds, including an integrated children's ward with eight beds.
Under Medical Specialty, a wide range of medical diseases is included, such as heart patients, kidney patients, arthritis patients, infectious disease patients, and patients undergoing anticoagulant treatment.
You will be physically and organizationally placed in DIH's Medical Department, and will report professionally to the chief interpreter at Queen Ingrid's Hospital and administratively to the department nurse in the Medical Outpatient Clinic and Medical Day Ward.
