As Chief Therapist with a nationwide role, you will be responsible for the Therapy Department at Queen Ingrid's Hospital. You will lead operations, coordination, quality assurance, and professional development across regions and disciplines. The position involves travel and requires strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as experience in leadership and interdisciplinary teamwork.
As Chief Therapist with a nationwide function, you will have overall responsibility for the Therapy Department at Queen Ingrid's Hospital and a central role in operations, coordination, quality assurance, and professional development across regions and professional groups.
Your areas of responsibility

Management of the Therapy Department at DIH
You have the overall responsibility for operations, professional direction, work environment, and personnel management of the department's employees.

Professional responsibility at the national level
You must ensure the development and implementation of clinical standards, treatment, and uniform workflows within all three professional areas (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and dietetics) in close collaboration with key professionals in the healthcare system.

Collaboration and networking
You will become an important link between key actors, including regional management, municipalities, external partners and suppliers, as well as professional forums.

Education, development, and data
You are expected to contribute to professional development and evidence-based practice, for example through research, teaching, and systematic data collection. You represent the therapy in relevant professional councils and projects.

Travel activity
The position involves some travel activity to regions and partners both domestically and internationally as part of the nationwide responsibility.
We expect that you:

Is a licensed physiotherapist or occupational therapist

Has a relevant candidate and leadership education (minimum diploma level)

Has documented experience in leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Has knowledge of or interest in the healthcare system in Greenland.

Has strong collaboration and communication skills

Can lead both operations and development and create an overview in a complex everyday life.

Can speak and write in Danish and English – knowledge of Greenlandic is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About us:
Queen Ingrid's Hospital (DIH) is a national hospital in Greenland. The hospital is equipped with 191 beds distributed among surgical, medical, and intensive care departments, as well as a patient hotel. DIH has specialized departments for orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and parenchymal surgery.
We, in the Therapy Department, consist of 11 physiotherapists, four occupational therapists, 1 dietitian, a warehouse manager, an office worker, three interpreters/assistants, and 2 receptionists. We have good facilities with a training room, training kitchen, warm water pool, and separate treatment rooms. We prioritize high professionalism, collaboration, and a healthy work environment. We are welcoming, attentive, and fun, and we place great emphasis on a good working environment in the department.

Housing
Housing is allocated according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.
Salary and employment
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Citizenship
If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that the employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
