The position is desired to be filled by May 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The nearest supervisor of the support person coordinator is the head of the Social Administration.
The daily work in the disability sector is carried out based on legislation and the rights of people with disabilities and public guidelines. The area also includes children who fall under this sector. Additionally, there will be daily collaboration and task-solving together with support persons for both children and adults in cooperation with the employees and the manager in the Social Administration, where cross-functional work is conducted.
We seek applicants with professional qualifications and an educational background, e.g. as a consulting assistant or trained in commerce and office work:
Experience working in the social sector
Knowledge of the legislation as well as the ability to provide special support to individuals with disabilities and special needs, as well as to coordinate (Training may be considered.)

The support person coordinator must collaborate with the caseworkers in the disability area, the home helpers (support persons for individuals with disabilities), and the caseworkers internally within the department.
Work tasks:
Processing of applications for support persons in the disability sector
Recruitment of support persons for children in need of support and participation in the collaboration regarding this.
·Ongoing meetings with and information for caseworkers and external partners
Review and discussion of reports from support personnel as well as action plans regarding citizens with disabilities.
Preparation of a status report on expenses for support person schemes as well as summaries of collected key figures.
·Professional, legal, and budgetary follow-up on the support person schemes
Guidance and advice for the department's employees in the area of support persons.
Participation in team meetings
Support and coaching for the support persons
Participation in various cross-cutting and urgent tasks
Coordination of support person efforts for home-dwelling citizens with disabilities, including particularly support person arrangements for families and children.
Knowledge of the legislation regarding children and families in the disability sector, including applicable rules and regulations.
Salary and employment conditions:
Employment and remuneration are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
Housing:
A staff housing option can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payments in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If a permanent staff residence cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant residence will be offered a temporary vacant residence, for which A-tax will be paid for free benefits in accordance with applicable legislation.
OR The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving of personal belongings will be provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
A staff residence must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.
