We are looking for a practical and responsible janitor/craftsman for the School of Health. The position involves daily operation and maintenance of the institution's buildings, student rooms, and outdoor areas. The janitor will also be the contact person for Matu Security and receive calls from students outside working hours for practical assistance.

We are looking for a practical and responsible janitor/craftsman who can manage the daily operations and maintenance of our institution and be the contact person in situations outside of normal working hours.
The start date is May 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
Purpose of the position
The purpose of the position is to ensure that the institution's buildings, student housing, and outdoor areas function well and are in proper condition, so that students and staff have safe and good conditions in their daily lives. The caretaker contributes to maintaining the institution's facilities and ensuring that any problems are addressed quickly and practically.
The institution has 12 student rooms, and the caretaker will have a special responsibility for supervising these as well as the common areas.
In addition, the janitor will be the contact person for Matu Security regarding alarms and will be able to receive calls from students outside of working hours if practical or urgent problems arise. Therefore, a standby allowance is associated with the position.
Work tasks

Your tasks will include: Daily operation and maintenance of the institution's buildings

Minor handyman tasks and repairs

Supervision of the institution's 12 student rooms and common areas

Maintenance of outdoor areas, including snow removal and minor maintenance.

Supervision of technical installations, alarms, and equipment

Contact and coordination with external craftsmen for larger tasks.

Purchase of materials for maintenance tasks

Contact person for Matu Security regarding alarms

Receiving calls from students outside normal working hours in case of practical assistance or in emergency situations.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
