Janitor

The all-day school is looking for an engaged janitor. We offer a good job in a well-functioning workplace.

The all-day school is a school with two departments. One department is affiliated with Atuarfik Samuel Kleinschmidt, and the other department, the all-day school, is located close to Nuussuup Atuarfia.

The students at the All-Day School have special needs and, for various reasons, cannot receive instruction in general classes. The All-Day School is a well-organized school that works purposefully to ensure that all students benefit from the teaching, which is tailored to their individual needs. Emphasis is placed on supporting both the students' learning and development.

As a janitor, you will work flexibly and be responsible for the school's two departments as well as the after-school club. You will collaborate with another janitor, as the school has two janitors who jointly handle the practical and technical tasks.

The school has about 80 students and about 62 staff members, distributed across the school's two departments.

The upcoming janitor will work across both departments in close collaboration with the other janitor and the school's staff.

One must be able to solve assigned tasks quickly and be solution-oriented regarding the given tasks.

·That one has a driver's license

Has understanding and space for children with special needs

·Is compassionate

The janitor is responsible for:

·Monitor the school's buildings, property, technical installations, and cleaning.

Ensure waste disposal and keep the school's area clean.

Deliver and distribute letters

·Notify of deteriorations via email

Help with camping trips

·To be a driver and assist when someone from the school goes shopping.

To assist when moving from classrooms to other classrooms

Minor repairs of decay or things that are broken

·Bring in new inventory

·To be a driver according to agreements

·To fulfill tasks assigned by teachers

The workday starts at 7:00 in the morning.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police as well as the criminal record from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
