We are looking for a skilled and dedicated janitor for home care/nursing home Tasiilaq, to start as soon as possible or shortly thereafter.

About home care/nursing homes in Tasiilaq:

Home care has 17-19 citizens in the city who receive assistance in various areas, such as personal care, cleaning, fetching water, shopping, and meal delivery. The nursing home has space for 16 residents. There are about 20 employees at the nursing home, including a manager and an assistant manager, health assistants, health aides, a cafeteria assistant, a childcare worker, cleaning assistants, a caretaker, and unskilled staff.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week. You will work from 8 AM to 4 PM, as well as on-call for urgent tasks that arise outside of regular working hours.

The content of the position:

We are looking for a caretaker – preferably experienced – to collaborate with residents and staff. You will partly be responsible for a number of tasks including:

Secure operation and maintenance of the nursing home

Responsible for the nursing home's waste

Supervise buildings, both inside and outside.

Be a driver when our driver is on vacation/sick.

Responsible for larger industrial procurements upon approval from management.

Fetch water for a citizen who has a grant.

Food delivery for citizens who have a grant.

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees and the manager.

We are looking for a janitor who is:

Stable, responsible

Preferably with practical skills and experience in building maintenance.

That you have a driver's license

Service-minded, flexible, cooperative, loyal, and show respect for our elderly residents.

I am able to organize your work and prioritize your tasks while maintaining an overview.

Effective, in good health, robust, and able to keep multiple balls in the air at once.

Is good at collaborating broadly

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
