Child and Youth Consultant for Early Childhood Services

Then you might be our new Children's and Youth Consultant in the daycare area at MISI Sermersooq.

Your tasks

As a consultant, you will become an important sparring partner for early childhood education, after-school care, and the school sector – especially in the work with school starters. You will, among other things:

• Advise and guide educational staff
• Work consultatively and make observations in daycare and AKO.
• Support the development of pedagogical practice and early interventions
• Prepare PPVs for inquiries about known children.
• Participate in networking meetings and interdisciplinary collaborations
• Contribute to transitions from daycare to school and collaboration on school starters.
• Hold presentations and workshops as needed.
• Ad hoc tasks

We are looking for you who

• Has a degree in pedagogy
• Relevant master's degree in education or psychology is an advantage.
• Further education in special pedagogy, inclusion, or early intervention is an advantage.
• Has experience in the daycare sector and knowledge of children's development and early intervention.
• Is good at advising, building relationships, and communicating knowledge at eye level.
• Thrives in an independent job and in interdisciplinary communities
• Have the courage to work in a Greenlandic context and meet families with cultural understanding.

• Contribute to the implementation of political decisions and strategies
• Participate in interdisciplinary networks and development work
• Collaboration across administrations on early intervention and complex cases

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
