Utoqqaat illuat in Nuuk is seeking an experienced caretaker to ensure the operation and maintenance of the nursing home. The job includes supervision of buildings, small purchases, repairs, and being a driver when needed. The position requires a technical background, a driver's license, and experience in building maintenance.
The nursing home in Nuuk is looking for a caretaker to start as soon as possible or by agreement.
The nursing home Utoqqaat Illuat is one of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq's elder institutions and is located in the center of Nuuk.
The nursing home consists of 5 sections and has, among other things, separate sections reserved for those with dementia and citizens in respite care. Utoqqaat Illuat has 47 residents distributed across 5 departments. Of these, 14 are respite care places. The dementia section Tungiu Ilorleq and silarleq consists of 20 residents. The Ippat section consists of 8 residents and 5 respite residents. Pillorissaavik consists of 9 respite residents and Katak consists of 5 residents. In addition to the five departments, there is also an activity room, a laundry, a kitchen, and a caretaker function.
We are a residential institution, and therefore the care departments worked in 3 shifts.
The staff at Utoqqaat Illuat includes the following qualifications: health assistants, health helpers, nurses, and in addition, there are a number of unskilled workers employed. Office clerks as well as nutrition assistants and nutrition aides.
The position reports to the Sous Chef of the establishment.

The content of the position:
We are looking for a caretaker – preferably experienced – to collaborate with residents and staff. You will partly be responsible for a number of tasks including:
· Ensure operation and maintenance of the nursing home.
· Supervise buildings, both inside and outside.
· Small purchases, ordering of goods, and repairs
· Be a driver when our driver is on vacation/sick.
· Fire instructor
· Responsible for larger industrial acquisitions upon approval from management.
The tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees and the manager.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
