As a department head, you will be the one who has an eye for the interplay between applicable legislation, political goals, and practical operations. Organizationally, you will be placed in the administration for children and families, Paamiut. You will report to the Director of the Administration for Children and Family and be part of the administration's management group.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible or by further agreement, and the position requires an education in the social field.

Your daily tasks in collaboration with the team leader and treatment leader will be:
As the head of department, you are responsible for both the authority area (BFA) and the intervention area (BFC). The authority area is managed daily by a department leader for social workers, case handlers, and ensuring the concrete case processing. The department leader for the intervention area is responsible for the specific initiatives that are referred to, including; the Children and Family Center family counselors, youth advisors, family counseling, family interventions, family apartments, crisis center.
As a department head, you must therefore be able to handle complex legislation effortlessly with one hand, while also ensuring the development and safe operation of specific social work initiatives.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate and criminal certificate from the national police as well as the criminal certificate from the local police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization. The employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
Housing:
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff accommodation is available. Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
