We are seeking a dedicated and independent social worker for a newly created position in our upcoming new house in Nuuk. You will play a key role in developing and planning our social efforts, advising users with social legal challenges, and collaborating with public authorities.
We are getting a new house in Nuuk, expected to be completed in June 2026, therefore we are looking for a dedicated and independent Social Worker for a newly created position in our upcoming new house.
The position is new to us, and you will therefore play an important role in developing and planning our social efforts.
About the position
Many of our users in the house have found themselves in an unexpected and unpredictable situation and have questions about their rights and conditions in the social area. You should generally be able to listen and advise on a broad existential field. Here, users may be affected by uncertainty and preoccupied with changes resulting from living with cancer.
Your tasks will include:
To be the team's primary social worker
Advise and support users with social legal challenges regarding welfare, employment, patient rights, complaint cases, leave for relatives, etc.
Guidance on rights, social benefits, and applications
Contact and cooperation with public authorities
Preparation of plan and structure for social services in our new house
Administrative tasks related to consulting and projects, drafting grant applications.
We are looking for you who:
Is trained as a social worker.
Speaks and writes Greenlandic
Also proficient in Danish
Works independently and structured
Has empathy and understanding for people in vulnerable situations
Has good collaboration skills

Working hours:
Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, there may be days when activities take place outside the aforementioned times.
