The Day and Referral Department is seeking a social worker with experience in case management and knowledge of social work and legislation. Tasks include referrals, advising municipalities and residential institutions, as well as developing new initiatives. The position requires independence, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
SEARCH THIS POSITION The Day and Referral Department works with referrals and advice and guidance for caseworkers in municipalities and residential institutions/24-hour services, and is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and operation of self-governing nationwide residential institutions for children and young people. The Day and Referral Department also handles the development of new initiatives in the area.

The Social Authority is under the Ministry of Children, Youth and Families and the following 5 departments: Paarisa, the Day and Admission Department, the Department for Advice to Caseworkers, the Finance Department, and the Secretariat. About the position:
We are looking for a social worker who can work as a visitor for the Day and Visitations Department, who has experience with case management in the municipality and has knowledge of social work and legislation.
The Day and Admission Department operates a central admission system and manages operational and development tasks related to the qualification of employees and leaders in residential institutions and round-the-clock services. The primary tasks of the visitor are to assess and provide advice and guidance to municipalities in the areas of placement outside the home in a residential institution or round-the-clock services for vulnerable children and young people or individuals with disabilities, with the aim of strengthening legal and social professional knowledge and practice in the field.
Work tasks/areas:

Case processing in relation to placement cases, referrals, and legislation.

Social counseling and guidance for residential institutions.

Social counseling and guidance for the municipalities.

Purpose descriptions and service declarations regarding self-governing residential institutions.

Involved in developing new initiatives generally in the round-the-clock sector.

Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures regarding placement cases and assessments.

Involved in facilitating at the principal seminar.

Various ad hoc tasks.

Trained social worker.

In-depth knowledge of case processing and social legislation.

Has experience in the social sector.

Is independent, flexible, structured, and solution-oriented.

Is well-founded in writing/orally, both Greenlandic and Danish.

Has good collaboration and communication skills.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Criminal record and child certificate
The Danish Agency for Social Services reserves the right to obtain a criminal record and a child certificate. We therefore point out that the employment can only take effect once the Danish Agency for Social Services has received a satisfactory child certificate from the National Police as well as a criminal record from the Police. The child certificate is obtained by the Danish Agency for Social Services with written consent from the individual, while the criminal record must be obtained by the individual themselves through the Police.
Employment start date:
June 1, 2026, or after further agreement.
