The position as a caseworker in the child and family area in Uummannaq is vacant for appointment from May 1, 2026.
The nearest supervisor is the Team Leader in Uummannaq Administration for Children and Family Affairs, and the closest employees are the caseworkers within the Children and Family area. Your area of responsibility will be to provide ongoing updates to the Team Leader in the Social Department about ongoing investigations and all new and updated documentation in the child welfare area, particularly social reports, action plans, and similar documents, as well as the status of all ongoing placements and statistical tasks.
Work and areas of responsibility:
·Case management within the child and family area.
·Advise and guide based on Greenlandic social legislation in Uummannaq and its settlements.
You must actively participate in the processing of complicated cases and ensure that all notifications received by the social administration are processed and acted upon.
·Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration group meetings and "Early intervention for pregnant families."
·Ensures settings for the Social Committee. Conduct ongoing briefings. Monitor ongoing expenses and actively participate in budgeting within the children and youth sector.
You must also participate in the local social duty scheme.
The position is desired to be filled by someone with the following qualifications:
A social worker education – However, others with a counseling education or a pedagogical education – office education – supplemented by several professional courses in the social field, especially within the area of children and young people and in social law, or are willing to take such courses may also be considered for the position.
·Have knowledge of the Children and Youth Strategy and its objectives.
·Have experience in the administration of legal regulations in the area of children.
·Have experience working with overall management within case processing in the area of children and youth in collaboration with caseworkers and external partners, as well as in collaboration with guardians.
·Psychologically resilient, systematic, and analytical.
Experience with conflict resolution in connection with handling conflicts and criticism.
·Reliable, empathetic abilities and a role model according to the requirements of decorum.
·Good communication skills and impact.
Responsible, positive, having a proactive approach to tasks and the ability to implement new regulations and new methods in case processing within the area.
·Adaptability, holistic-oriented and flexible.
·Various ad hoc tasks.

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.
