The Administration for Children and Families is seeking a maternity cover for a full-time position as a caseworker - social worker. The job involves case processing of child cases, preparation of action plans, and collaboration with relevant agencies. The candidate must be a qualified social worker, have knowledge of case processing, and be adaptable.

The position is a full-time role as a caseworker - social worker within the authority area that works with children and young people.
The working hours are from Monday to Friday (40 hours a week).
The tasks will primarily consist of:
Case processing of child cases, including the documentation of all relevant information.
Gathering relevant information for relevant instances depending on the purpose and need.
Preparation, revision of the action plan, and assessment of whether the ongoing measures are still appropriate for the family.
Referral and assessment to relevant instances depending on the purpose and needs.
·Conduct conversations with citizens, children, and partners
Coordination work in connection with visits, visitation agreements, network meetings, family consultations, placements, changes in placement, reunification, etc.
Assessment of whether a placement should be initiated. When initiating, a plan for gentle placement must be made in close collaboration with the parents and the placement location.
·Processing of various types of applications, including additional expenses, projects, visit trips, boarding school stays, folk high school stays, changes in placement, return home, aftercare, etc.
·Conduct annual inspections of placed children and young people
·Prepare a support description for possible psychiatry, the Welfare Administration, or other agencies.
Preparation of a social professional investigation
·Comply with and apply applicable regulations as well as internal competency plans and guidelines
Participate in sparring meetings to ensure a consistent professional approach in daily work.
Contribute to a respectful and constructive collaboration within the team, department, and administration, as well as with external partners.
·Participate in the Notification Duty outside normal working hours
·Other tasks as agreed with the department head or team leader
The candidate:
We expect you to be a trained social worker or have a background in the social field, with a broad knowledge of case processing for child cases, including documenting relevant information after conversations, holding meetings, and receiving various forms of correspondence.
We expect that you are used to conducting various forms of conversations, are trustworthy, not hesitant, and preferably have knowledge of different types of conversation techniques with citizens, children, and partners. It is important that you have ambitions and are passionate about the profession. You should be able to work independently and be part of a team where collaboration is key. You need to be adaptable, available, and mentally resilient, as the days can be somewhat unpredictable. You will be part of the development of the administration, where we expect you to be solution-oriented and able to provide constructive criticism.
In connection with the fact that the job consists of about 80% administration, you should have a good knowledge of using IT systems and be good at expressing yourself in writing.
It can be expected that there may be travel activities related to inspections, so you must also be able to participate.
Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
The Administration for Children and Family:
The Administration for Children and Family handles the authority area, and in a team that manages all case processing for children and families. The tasks are carried out by all caseworkers, including the preparation of social assessments, the development of action plans, working on prevention, managing cases, working with placed children and young people in foster families or residential institutions, as well as aftercare.
The notification duty and emergency duty receive all notifications for the entire Municipality of Sermersooq and process them. In addition, they have case files where measures have been initiated. The disability team works with children and young people covered by the disability regulation.
Criminal and child certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We therefore wish to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
