Greenland Self-Government is seeking an apprentice for the TAMU canteen, where you will be trained in meal preparation, menu planning, and hygiene. About TAMU
TAMU prepares daily breakfast and buffet between 60-150 portions. The staff prepares the food from scratch, such as cold cuts, breakfast products, and baking bread, based on Greenlandic and Nordic dietary guidelines. In addition, we arrange catering for meetings, courses, etc., in the Self-Government. Furthermore, there is a refrigerated display sale from our own selection. Fresh and well-presented buffet with good ergonomic working conditions is prioritized. Our dietary areas currently cover a daily offer for diabetics as well as people with lactose and gluten intolerance.
TAMU started in April 2017, so there is room for input and suggestions for new opportunities. TAMU has a skilled team consisting of 1 cafeteria manager, 1 trained chef, 1 cafeteria assistant, and 1 experienced nutrition assistant. The team is very self-driven with planning their own workday and their own areas of responsibility, where everyone contributes with good humor and a positive tone in a learning environment where collaboration is highly prioritized. Our goal is to be an attractive training place, and in collaboration, we will continuously work together on how to ensure this goal.
The working hours are 40 hours a week between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM from Monday to Friday. There are no evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. The cafeteria is closed between Christmas and New Year.
