About the position

The position requires you to be independent, systematic, solution-oriented, and proactive. You must be able to maintain and further develop the strong culture and professional pride that characterize the Greenlandic Electricity Authority. You will need to work closely with Nukissiorfiit's energy services in the towns on the practical solutions to the tasks of the energy authority, which also requires collaboration with the local business community, educational institutions, etc. There will be some travel activity associated with the position. As the Head of the Greenlandic Electricity Authority, you will be the personnel manager for 3 dedicated colleagues. The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is located in its own premises.

About the Greenland Electricity Authority

Greenland's Electricity Authority is a subordinate unit in the Department of Business, Raw Materials, Energy, Justice, and Gender Equality and has the status of an independent regulatory body with the overall responsibility for electricity and gas safety in Greenland. In administrative matters, Greenland's Electricity Authority refers to the Department of Business, Raw Materials, Energy, Justice, and Gender Equality.

The Greenland Electricity Authority is responsible for the administration of the Landsting Regulation No. 12 of November 3, 1994, concerning electrical installations, electrical installations, and electrical equipment. The Greenland Electricity Authority also oversees the control and supervision of electrical installations and equipment.

The Greenland Electricity Authority is authorized under the Landsting Ordinance to establish provisions regarding electrical installations and electrical equipment and is authorized to establish provisions regarding safety and quality management systems for authorized companies or applicants for authorization, including requirements for documentation thereof as well as for approval thereof.

The Greenland Electricity Authority is responsible for ongoing control and supervision of facilities, gas equipment, and authorizations in accordance with the Inatsisartut Act on gas facilities, gas equipment, and authorization requirements. The Greenland Electricity Authority is authorized by the Inatsisartut Act to establish provisions and update regulations, including the Gas Regulation for Greenland.

  • Qualifications You have an education in the electrical field, for example as an electrical installer, marine engineer, engineer, or similar.
  • You have a journeyman's certificate as an electrician or relevant experience.
  • You have routine and experience in working with laws, regulations, and standards at the supervisory level.
  • As communication and quality assurance are an important part of your tasks, it is required that you have good formulation skills both orally and in writing in Greenlandic and Danish.

  • We also expect that you have leadership experience and good leadership qualities.
  • Thrives with independent task management and can prioritize in a busy everyday life with changing agendas and work tasks.
  • Has a sense of planning and overview and can help others achieve the same. You are good at ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining calm.
  • Can see yourself being a stable and important part of the Greenland Electricity Authority for many years to come.
  • If you also have knowledge of gas installations and are well-versed in Microsoft's products, this will also be a plus.

It will be an advantage if you have knowledge of Greenlandic conditions and are proficient in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.

Employment conditions

The position is currently classified as corresponding to 38. The salary with fixed salary components and personal contribution to pension in LR 38 amounts to DKK 64,048 monthly and DKK 768,576 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Employment will primarily occur under collective agreement terms, where applicants who are already civil servants according to the civil servant laws for the public Greenland may be employed under civil servant terms.

For the position, it applies that no maximum length of service has been established and that the provisions regarding compensation for overtime and the provisions regarding compensation for lost days off do not apply; the working hours are initially 40 hours per week.

Security clearance

To be considered for the position, you must be able to obtain security clearance for 'Secret' and maintain that clearance throughout the employment period. Therefore, please initially include a copy of your criminal record from the criminal register. Housing

No staff accommodation is provided for the position. If the applicant already has staff accommodation through the Self-Government, the right to the allocated staff accommodation is retained. The staff accommodation is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
