The Government of Greenland is seeking an ambitious academic for financial controlling in the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church. The position involves responsibility for strategic projects and cross-cutting coordination. You will be part of the Department for Finance, Personnel & Study Administration, which plays a central role in coordinating grants and developing financial projects across the fields of education, culture, sports, and the church. About the position

As an academic in the department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating larger controlling projects of strategic importance. Among other things, you will: Conduct financial controlling of underlying units in the education, culture, sports, and church sectors.

Strengthen the economic prioritization and coordination across sectors

Support the department head in strategic projects and ensure progress in these.

Contribute to cross-cutting coordination between the department and underlying operational units.

Processing of financial data, as well as the preparation of economic-statistical overviews

Ad-hoc tasks
The position must take into account suddenly arising travel activities, as there may be situations where underlying operational units need to be visited suddenly in connection with financial controlling and supervision.
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who: Has a relevant higher education (e.g. B.Sc. in Social Sciences, M.Sc. in Public Administration, M.Sc. in Economics or similar)

Has strategic understanding and preferably has experience from the Self-Government or municipalities.

Has strong analytical and economic-statistical skills.

Thrives in a professional community based on trust, support, and development.

Can create good relationships and collaborate constructively with many stakeholders.

Is clear in your communication and can set direction for your tasks.

Has in-depth knowledge of the conditions throughout Greenland.
We would like you to be proficient in Greenlandic, Nordic languages, and English.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For the right candidate with several years of experience, and after a specific assessment, employment may occur under special consultant terms.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
