We are looking for a lead translator for the translation service team. With your leadership potential and your experience in political service, you will head a new and developing team that will advance the team and address the complex issues that may arise.
Are you good at creating structure and overview, and would you like to be part of the team under the Department of Health and Persons with Disabilities in the Management Secretariat? Then you might be the new lead translator we are looking for, as we seek an ambitious and approachable colleague for our management secretariat. You should be able to serve the management secretariat as well as other departments in the Ministry. You will be the professional leader of the team of translators, which currently consists of 2 language consultants. You report directly to the head of administration for the management secretariat. Your role involves professional leadership of the team of language consultants, while the formal personnel responsibility and overall management of the department lies with the head of administration. Additionally, you will support the department with administrative ad hoc tasks as well as coordination of cases for political processing.

As the lead translator/interpreter, you will be responsible for, among other things: Setting the direction for the team within the framework of workflows and structure, so that it makes sense for employees.

Support the employees in solving tasks and assist them with professional sparring and competence development.

Implement and manage control over administrative processes.

Support the employees in their daily well-being and job satisfaction.

Coordination of practical support for the management secretariat.

Management of translation tasks and collaboration with external parties.

Contributions to cross-cutting development projects.

Solution of ad hoc tasks within the department, health and disability area.

Professional qualifications: Preferably trained translator/interpreter or other relevant education

Preferably several years of practical experience with translation services.

Experience from similar positions or environments is an advantage.

User level in the MS Office suite and general good understanding of systems. Experience with TMS is an advantage.

Good language skills in Greenlandic, Danish, and preferably English, although the latter is not a requirement.

Other administrative tasks: Support for archiving and documentation in the management secretariat.

Responsibility for tasks during on- and offboarding.

Coordinator for the management secretariat's cross-departmental collaboration with other departmental case handlers.

Support the administration manager regarding ongoing administrative and practical tasks.
Your personal qualifications
We are looking for a lead translator who is professionally engaged and has the ability and desire to work in collaborative teams that prioritize development. We seek someone who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship and approaches tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development and political servicing.

We prefer that you have a relevant higher education at the bachelor's level.

You have experience from a similar position or from a position within self-government.

You have an understanding of economic and statistical work.

You have an overview and can work under time pressure.

You have a good knowledge of Greenlandic society and culture, and possess language skills in Greenlandic and Danish.

You have an overview and can maintain it in a complex process.
