The Department of Environment, Nature, Energy and Research is seeking a translator to ensure quality and translate texts. The Department of Environment, Nature, Energy and Research is seeking a new colleague to assist with quality assurance and translation across the entire department.
The department consists of approximately 45 employees, distributed across four divisions: the Department of Service, Economy and Personnel as well as Climate, the Department of Nature, the Department of Environment, the Department of Energy, and the Environmental Agency for Mineral Resources. Additionally, under the department are Pinngortitaleriffik (Greenland's Nature Institute), Nukissiorfiit, the Electricity Authority, and Asiaq.

Your tasks
You will be part of the department for Service, Economy, and Personnel, but will be a valued colleague for all the department's employees. You will help ensure the quality of translations and translate texts, and will therefore work closely with the management team and your colleagues in other departments. You will quickly gain insight into the department's work, the political processes, and get close to the political machinery. You should be good at translating between Greenlandic and Danish, and have a good understanding of making the texts sound fluent and natural in both languages.
You can expect that your primary tasks will be:

Quality control of translations

Translations from Danish to Greenlandic and vice versa

Translation of cases to the Minister, the Government, and the Parliament

Translation of bills, larger reports, and letters

Ad hoc tasks in the Department of Service, Finance, and Personnel

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can take place in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
