The Self-Government's Interpreter Office is seeking an interpreter for simultaneous interpretation and translation between Danish and Greenlandic. The position is part of a translation/simultaneous interpretation team, where translations from English may also occur. We expect you to be a trained interpreter with good collaboration skills.
The start date is August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
About the position
The Interpretation Office handles all interpreting and translation tasks, including simultaneous interpreting in the Self-Government's central administration. The translations are usually from Danish to Greenlandic and vice versa, such as draft bills, government proposals, larger reports, materials for Landsting meetings, as well as incoming and outgoing correspondence from the departments/directorates.
In addition, internal quality control is conducted on all tasks.
Depending on the individual's competencies, translations from English to Greenlandic may also occur, as well as simultaneous interpretation to and from Greenlandic at meetings, conferences, etc.
The Interpretation Office has implemented a digital translation system, which results in a new organization of the interpreters' work. A technical and quality assurance team has been established, as well as a translation/simultaneous interpretation team, and the position is posted for the latter team.

Is trained as an interpreter, has good collaboration skills even in pressured situations.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
