AC Officer

Department for Children, Youth, Families and Interior Affairs seeks an AC Officer to improve conditions for children and youth. The position involves developing and managing projects, strategies, and analyses as well as servicing the political level. We are looking for a collaborative person with an academic background and experience in project work.

The Department for Children, Youth, Families and Interior Affairs is seeking an AC officer. Are you passionate about improving conditions for children and young people, and do you want to work closely with the political decision-making process? Then we have an exciting position for you.

In the Department for Children, Youth, Families, and Home Affairs, we work to achieve political goals in the social sector in Greenland. Our tasks are diverse, and as an AC officer, you will, among other things, develop and lead projects, strategies, initiatives, and analyses, as well as handle cross-cutting tasks within the department's area of responsibility. You will also serve the political level by preparing proposals for the Naalakkersuisut, notes regarding issues, and responses to §37 questions.

The department is organized into two divisions: the Management Secretariat and the Department for Cross-Project and Monitoring. Your job

You will be part of the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring, which consists of four employees with mixed expertise. The department works across the entire scope of the ministry and plays a central role in ensuring that political decisions are translated into concrete actions and results. We often collaborate across departments in the Naalakkersuisut and have projects in cooperation with the country's municipalities. Here, you will have your own tasks and significant influence from the start. The work is diverse and requires collaboration across departments, professional boundaries, and cultures, as well as the ability to take independent responsibility for your own areas of work.

  • Your tasks Develop and lead cross-cutting projects, strategies, and initiatives in the department's area of responsibility.
  • Prepare analyses and evaluations that support political decisions and priorities.
  • Serve the political level through presentations to the Naalakkersuisut, notes, and responses to §37 questions.
  • Coordinate and follow up on ongoing projects and ensure progress in relation to political goals.
  • Contribute to monitoring and reporting, so the department has a solid basis for decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to create coherence and quality in the efforts.

  • About you Has a relevant academic degree at the master's level
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of the social sector is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with project and process work, preferably also experience with project management.
  • Can work independently, structured, and development-oriented.
  • Has a good understanding of statistics and data
  • Is skilled at communicating in writing and speaking.
  • Can create an overview of many and complex information.
  • Is good at collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions and culture is an advantage.
  • Preferably bilingual, but it is not a requirement.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
